Which Header - the results are in!

UPDATE 16/5/11:
If you have just landed at this post, I'd love it if you could leave a comment and tell me why.
I've had that top ten posts widget up for about a year now, and rare indeed is the week when this is not included, and very often - as now - it's in the number one slot.
Yet it's completely outdated, it has no relevant content and can't even be accessed via a Google image search...
So please let me know how and why you landed here!
Thanks,
Matthew

Now on with the show...

Thanks to everyone who voted!
.
Allowing for multiple votes, the results are as follows...
.
In last place, and the only one to not get a single mention:
.
9. High Society

Sharing one vote each:

2. Witchy Samantha

3. Psycho

10. Glynis Johns

12. Fay

14. Drew

15. Bela

Several of my favourites there, reminding us that democracy can be overrated.

However, with two votes apiece:

1. Hopper (the original) 4. Paulette
7. Kay

8. Jimmy and Grace

All of which, then, take an early bath. (We pause here while I contemplate Drew and Fay taking an early bath.)

Now to the prize-winners. In joint third place with three tips of the hat:

6. Loretta
and 11. An assortment of twenties gals

Which means that the runner-up, taking the silver dish and the right to take over the winner's responsibilities should it prove unwilling or unable to carry them out....

13. Fay, with that "I'm about to scream" look on her face, and five votes.

But just pipping her to the post: the winner, with six votes...........

5. Louise
Louise would like to thank you all for voting for her, and promises not to do another Canary Murder Case and disappear without warning.

Okay, I liked the Loretta Young too!

So many choices! I think Tony Perkins in Psycho (#3) is the one that best matches your slogan, but my personal favorite is Loretta Young (#6). I love that photo of her peeking out of her hands. :)

I like #5 with Louise Brooks. But really I like them all.

Drew because she looks appropriately edible.

Or Fay 2 because she looks like she's going to be eaten.

Or Jimmy and Grace because it's Jimmy and Grace.

Or Louise or Paulette because they're great pictures.

Or Witchy Samantha because it makes me smile.

Oh put them all up on rotation.

Wait, the big Drew picture has just loaded. It has to be Drew. That moisture on her calf is from someone crying over it.

Matthew! I was doing some work on the graphics of my blog and noticed to my shame that I had not put your blog in my "beloved links" section. Please forgive this oversight. It has been corrected. Now - hurry up with the Frank Tuttle post! -- Mykal

For me it's a tie between #1, #13 & #10 -- you're quite skilled in the photoshop department, it's hard to choose! :)

Personally, I like:
5,6,8, and 11...for what would Movietone News be without a dancing chorus of 20's gals?

Hum... hard multiple choice! Even more complicated than the driving license's exam!

I'd vote for "rotating" as all the headers are quite handsome, but if I have to point a few favourites:

- The Hopper one, it's got that "radio City Music hall" luxuriance, plus a touch of melancholy.

- The one with Louise Brooks: there's something to say about the creativity of the 20s/30s, as you could see the chair in front of Miss Brooks being sold as "modern" or "latest design" in a furniture shop of our days.

- The twenties chorus girls one's a winner, even the tipography seems part of the number there ;D

- The second Fay Wray one, with her eyes gazing in horror (or maybe just saying "OK, we'll be nice and won't hurt each other, shall we?")
